Organizations are investing heavily in employee productivity tools, yet the average employee juggles eight different tools daily, creating fragmentation that slows rather than accelerates productivity. Generative AI (genAI) was expected to solve this challenge, but 78% of decision-makers report struggling to see a real return on investment from their genAI-enabled productivity tools. AI agents — systems capable of taking autonomous action on behalf of enterprises and individuals — represent a promising next step, with 72% of organizations believing they would be valuable or extremely valuable. However, to realize the full potential of AI agents, organizations must fundamentally rethink their approach and adopt integrated solutions, such as a work operating system, that connect AI capabilities directly to how employees work.
